• Tansley Christmas Market

NSART provided First Aid Event Cover for three days at Tansley Christmas Market, near Matlock. The days were long and with regard to First Aid, it was a success with no-one needing our services.

Friday was very windy and cold, consequently the market was very quiet. Saturday was much busier and had a nice Christmassy feel to it. However on Sunday, everyone involved in the market turned up to find total devastation of the site. There had been gale force winds overnight and most of the site, stalls and stands had been blown away. NSART’s 4m x 4m marquee was found 300m away from where it should have been, in bits and very securely stuck in a hedge!!! There was nothing salvageable from the wreckage. Fortunately the damage had been done during a period when the site had been empty and our first aid skills were therefore not needed. Unfortunately the market was shut down for the day.

A big thank you to Dunk, Terry, Phil, Caroline, Kat, Chris, Ally, Geoff, Gary, Tim and Tony for giving up their time and volunteering for this event. We would also like to thank our trainee search dog “Solo”… he was a big hit!
